WANDER POWELL-HAYES BIO
Wander Powell-Hayes was born on April 4, 1963. A native Chicagoan
and graduate of Wendell Phillips High School Class of 1981.
She graduated from Robert Morris College, and attend DePaul University.
She is a widow (Carl L. Hayes Sr), a former educator, producer, a radio,
tv host, author, playwright, actress, model, Podcaster, Caregiver,
mother of two Children Rekita and Carl Jr. and one grandson Kelvin
B. Bowers III, community advocate for over 20 years, she’s been
dedicated to improving many neighborhoods in various cities.
In 1996 she relocated to Nashville TN and became an educator in the
Metro Nashville Public Schools for more than twenty years teaching
P.E. to Special Needs Students K-12th grade. On May 5,1998 she
Founded R.O.C Restore Our Communities to find more ways to make
positive changes in the streets via the media. She confronts the
issues and challenges people to make a difference.
Wander is the host of the show “KITCHEN TABLE CONVERSATION”.
A show where we meet, eat and dialogue about everyday issues.
Wander returned to Chicago to care for her sick daughter Rekita M.
Powell who was diagnosed and eventually passed away after battling
a rare kidney cancer R.M.C Renal Medullary Carcinoma. You can read
